Position Expat Support Manager
Job Description

For the Japan Desk at Amstelland Hospital, we are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented Expat Support Manager to assist Japanese expats in navigating the Dutch healthcare system. In this role, you will provide practical and linguistic support during Amstelland Hospital visits or remotely via phone, answer general questions about healthcare in the Netherlands and at the Amstelland Hospital, and ensure smooth communication between expats and local healthcare providers.
You will also manage key operational tasks such as maintaining our emergency phone line, updating the website, and handling light administrative duties. Building strong relationships with healthcare stakeholders in Amstelveen and surrounding areas is an essential part of this position.
Furthermore, together with the foundation’s board you will be actively involved in shaping the future of the Japan Desk and adapting its services to changing customer needs.

• Support Japanese people during Amstelland Hospital appointments, helping with language and cultural understanding.
• Respond to oral and written inquiries from (future) Japanese expats and share clear information about hospital visits and the Dutch healthcare system.
• Manage the emergency phone line, ensuring timely and effective communication.
• Maintain and update our website to keep information accurate and accessible.
• Handle light administrative tasks to support smooth operations, incl. some invoicing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Amstelland Hospital and other key stakeholders in the healthcare sector in Amstelveen and surrounding areas.

Job Requirements

• Native or fluent in Japanese (spoken and written) with strong English proficiency. Dutch (or willingness to learn) is a strong advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities.
• General understanding of the Dutch healthcare system or willingness to learn.
• Ability to explain healthcare processes clearly and empathetically.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of website management (e.g., CMS platforms) and proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel, email tools).
• Background in healthcare, customer service, or administrative roles is a plus.
• If applicable, candidate must be in the possession of a valid work permit.
Service-oriented, discreet, patient, culturally sensitive, openness to adapt to new technologies and manage change effectively.

Working Hours :
