Dear member, JCC is pleased to invite you to a seminar organised in cooperation with JETRO Amsterdam and Norton Rose Fulbright on Wednesday, 4 June 2025. As global geopolitical tensions rise and technologies evolve, the complexity of national security reviews is increasing worldwide. In the EU, with more Member States, including the Netherlands, adopting their own Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) screening mechanisms, the FDI landscape is becoming increasingly challenging for businesses. The revised EU FDI Regulation proposed by the European Commission is expected to introduce some degree of coordinated FDI enforcement; however, it remains to be seen what changes will be eventually adopted and how effective those changes will be. In this context, our seminar will explain the FDI screening framework in the EU and the Dutch FDI screening mechanism to assist Japanese investors considering investments in the EU in effectively and timely navigating their transactions. We will also briefly address potential regulations related to outbound investments into non-EU countries. The seminar will conclude with a Q&A session. The seminar will be primarily conducted in English, but we will prepare presentation slides in both English and Japanese. Before we start the session, lunch will be served at the venue. The Q&A session is followed by a coffee break for networking. If you wish to participate, please log in as a member on the JCC website and register by 21 May 2025 . Please note that seminar registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. As the seminar venue has limited capacity, we encourage you to register early.
