We are pleased to invite you to the seminar in the afternoon (CET) on Tuesday, 9 September 2025 with full support from JETRO Amsterdam and Briddge Legal & Finance.

In approximately 2 hours Briddge Legal & Finance will provide you with a seminar focused on preventative sick leave strategies, offering practical tools and culturally informed advice tailored to the needs of Japanese employers. Following by the seminar last year regarding general sick leave management in the Netherlands, this year our seminar will strongly focus on the prevention.

In the Netherlands, rising sick leave rates—now averaging 4–5% per year—pose a significant challenge for employers, especially considering the financial obligations that come with long-term employee absence. However, research and practice show that a strong focus on prevention can drastically reduce sick leave rates and improve employee well-being and productivity.
Japanese companies operating in the Netherlands often find themselves navigating unfamiliar cultural expectations and legal obligations. Preventing sick leave starts with understanding local regulations, fostering a healthy work environment, and identifying early warning signs—ideally before issues escalate into absenteeism.
